SAFFCA | Clément Garnung

Last Sunday, Clement Garnung was able to share with some of us a portion of the works he engaged with during his two residencies in SA. The first one was a collaboration in between SAFFCA and The Project Space in Johannesburg from the 15th of September to the 15th of October. The second one was a SAFFCA residency at Entabeni farm in Knysna thanks to Axon properties and the Barnes family’s generosity.

The evening was generously offered by the Alliance Française of Johannesburg and IFAS, “Institut Français d’Afrique de Sud”.

Clement’s works shown illustrated to the fullest the purpose of these residencies across the borders. A strong artistic conversation in between Clement, Benon, and some of the artists in August House was given birth in Johannesburg and before being followed in Knysna with Pauline Gutter from Bloemfontein.

SAFFCA, would like to express its gratitude to each and everyone involved in the process and to all of you who came to our informal gatherings in Knysna and Johannesburg.
