CURRICULUM VITTAE
Carla Crafford is a practising artist, working mostly with photography as medium. She has been guest lecturer in Photograhy at the University of Pretoria (Visual Arts and Information Design) since 1997.
Crafford’s photography of other artists’ work – and occasional collaboration with other artists, is an ongoing passion that has resulted in the production of books on the subject.
She has had five solo exhibitions, has taken part in numerous group exhibitions, locally and in Europe, and has works published in a variety of local and international magazines, catalogues and books. She has produced six books. Her photographs, books and paintings are represented in the collection of the University of Pretoria, and in various private collections in South Africa, France and the United States.

1. September 1996 – ”Sites And Structures”, an exhibition of photographs and oil paintings, Ivy Villa Studio Pretoria.
2. June 2000 – “VIP”, an installation of portraits at the Old Arts Gallery, University of Pretoria
3. 2007 Momentarily Endless, a retrospective of photographic work, Fried Contemporary Gallery, Pretoria.
4. July 2009, Sticks and Stones (Dodge/Burn) Gordart Gallery, Johannesburg. Sculpted work in bronze and wood, as well as photography.
5. DECEMBER 2009, Open Studio, Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris.
