The Witklipfontein residency experience was a much needed experience for my creative process a chance to break and a chance to slow down and reflect on my career and my creative process. If there was one word for the experience, it would be reset. It was not the beauty of nature, it wasn’t being a witness to how fast a family of ostrich can grow in three months but how such a small community understood how being involved and playing your part help sustain and preserve such life.

Works created at Witklipfontein have been a long introspective on what holds us back as individuals and often enough we learn that we not at war with anyone but ourselves. Some say most of the worries that occur in our minds don’t happen in real life.

Experiencing this and being part of the farm was reassuring to my belief that in our little corners we can create a ripple effect, where everyone understands that we are all here for a real reason and our contribution is valid.
